Closing Costs to Expect:
- Lawyer or Notary Fees and Expenses: searching title, investigating title, drafting documents, land title registration fees.
- Survey Certificate (if required).
- Costs of Mortgage, including: mortgage company's Lawyer/Notary, appraisal (if applicable).
- Home Insurance Premium.
- Property Transfer Tax: 1% on amounts including and up to $200,000 and 2% on the amount exceeding $200,000.
- GST (Goods and Services Tax): charged on purchase of new homes or extensively renovated homes.
